About Brainsport

Brainsport is a free collection of logic, number and word puzzles that you can play straight in your browser, on a computer, tablet or phone. No downloads, no subscriptions: just a fresh puzzle whenever you want one.

Our idea: puzzles that grow with you

Most puzzle books and apps let you pick "easy", "medium" or "hard", and then leave you there. We think that misses the point. A puzzle is most rewarding, and the best workout for your brain, when it is just a little harder than what you can already do comfortably. Research on brain training points the same way: the challenge should keep rising as your skills grow. You can read more about that on our page about puzzles and brain health.

That is why our number puzzles (Sudoku, Killer Sudoku, Kakuro and Futoshiki) are adaptive. Every puzzle you solve adjusts your rating for that puzzle type, and the next puzzle is made to match it. Beginners get a gentle start; experienced solvers keep being pushed without having to hunt for harder levels. In the word puzzles you choose from several levels yourself, and we encourage you to move up as soon as a level feels easy.

• Word puzzles: Crossword, Cryptogram, Codeword, Word Search, Filippine and Linguo.
• Reasoning: IQ Puzzles with number series, analogies, logic and pattern matrices.

How the puzzles are made

Our number and logic puzzles are generated by our own software, so you will practically never see the same grid twice. The word puzzles use our own curated word lists and clues in several languages, including English, Dutch, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Swedish and Danish. We keep reviewing and improving these lists.

Free to play

Brainsport is free. To pay for hosting and development we show advertisements, provided by Google. You can play without an account. If you create a free account, your ratings and settings are saved so you can continue on another device. Read our privacy policy to see exactly which data we use.
